A Ride Worth Making

IT’S PAINFUL TO REMEMBER AND COMPARE:

SOME DAYS ARE  BETTER THAN OTHERS . . . THIS WEEKEND WAS SOME OF THOSE DAYS:

I spent a GREAT few days from early Friday morning (August 5) to late Sunday afternoon (August 3) riding my Motorcycle through the winding and twisting hills of Vermont and New Hampshire, as the guest of Quebec’s (Montreal’s) Masonic Order of Shriners, of which I am a member of neither.

The purpose of the RIDE was to meet with HUNDREDS of other Shriners who RIDE worldwide under the banner of THE WIDOWS SONS.

For those of you who do not know, the Shriners are involved in many positive social issues, with, to the best of my knowledge, the predominant issue is the Shriner’s Hospitals, which at no cost to recipients, they treat sick children with the kind of care that is not normally available anywhere else.

There are no shortages of good deeds performed by the Shriners, including how they treat their own. On this particular RIDE, I was probably one of the very few non-Shriners to participate.

What also makes the Shriners special is how religion, culture, language . . . etc, are without bounds. There were Christians represented by Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants, as well as Jews including a Rabbi.

In our case from Montreal . . . most of the RIDERS were French-speaking, where over the weekend, I spoke more French than I have in the last dozen years, which was interesting, since the more I heard and spoke, the more fluent in French I was once again becoming.

THE RIDE WAS ALL ABOUT A COMMON GOAL:

I am often invited to join groups in various RIDES, most of which I cannot attend, simply because there isn’t enough time in my life. But, there are THREE RIDES that I will not miss.

1 – I won’t miss the Canadian Heroes Highway Ride, which pays homage to Canada’s Troops who’ve perished in Afghanistan.

2 – I won’t miss the National Memorial Ride, where I lay a WREATH on behalf of Jewish RIDERS at Canada’s National Memorial Cemetery in Ottawa, where we pay tribute to all of Canada’s Troops (and American Troops) who have passed away in the service of their country, or because of sickness or old age.

3 – AND I WON’T MISS THE PLEDGE RIDE, which I organize, to keep the MEMORY and HISTORY of the Holocaust alive in our annual Pledge of NEVER AGAIN to a Second Holocaust.

SO . . . WHY DID I AGREE TO GO ON THIS LONG RIDE FROM WHERE I LIVE?

The purpose of this RIDE was to show support and solidarity with American Veterans, who are in need of the services of the VA (Veterans Hospitals), during this time of despicable neglect and CRIMINAL activities on behalf of the people trusted to run these intuitions for the EXCLUSIVE benefit of America’s SOLDIERS . . . past, present and future.

We rode to a significant VA Hospital in White River Junction Vermont, where the Chief of Surgery greeted us with a strange request for a Hospital:

He said . . . Generally, we ask people who are near the vicinity of the hospital to refrain from making noise, but in this case, with all the Harley Davidsons here, when you LEAVE the parking area, ROAR YOUR ENGINES, so the patients inside will know that they are not alone.

Which all the Harley Riders were far more than delighted to do.

PAYING TRIBUTE TO ONCE MALIGNED AMERICAN HEROES:

STANDING WITH PRIDE BEFORE THE MEMORIAL:

After we roared away (the Harley Riders ROARED – I ride a Honda VTX 1300T) from the VA Hospital, we rode to the Vermont Vietnam Memorial at Sharon Vermont, just off the I-89, where we paid tribute to those who gave it their all almost FIVE DECADES AGO, who came home to derision from far too many Americans and others worldwide, led by Democrat President Jimmy Carter, piled-on by the American SELL-OUT John Kerry, and TRAITOR Hanoi Jane Fonda.

It’s important to note that this Vermont Memorial was the first STATE TRIBUTE in America, created in 1982 to honor the memory of all of those who served and died FIGHTING in South East Asia, to keep the creep of Communism from America’s shores.

IT’S PAINFUL TO REMEMBER AND COMPARE:

As I stood in REVERENCE at the Vietnam Memorial, I thought about how our VALUES have changed over a period of FIVE DECADES. How we “progressed” from being Patriots, putting family and country FIRST, to become ENTITLEMENT SEEKERS without much of a MORAL COMPASS, without much PATRIOTISM, and without personal PRIDE and OBLIGATION to Country.

I thought about what kind of a person I was back in the 1960’s and 1970’s . . . also, how my friends were back in the same era, when many of them opted for Drugs, Sex and Rock and Roll, bringing us to a selfish NATION-CHANGING shift in VALUES.

And how we went from there to here.

If America wants to survive and RESURRECT the American DREAM, perhaps the past is the roadmap to what the future should be, and return to the VALUES that carried America and the rest of the world before we allowed (encouraged) our governments to turn to the LEFT for the worst.

PLEASE NOTE:

I have been INUNDATED with so many emails, that I cannot possibly respond to them all. So, please do not feel as though I’m not paying attention. I read all the short emails and the COMMENTS below the Editorial.

I might not be able to respond, but nonetheless, I read what you send.

I also want to make two simple comments on what is happening in Israel, and throughout the world vis a vis reaction to Israel’s WAR AGAINST TERRORISM.

1 – As for Israel . . . DO NOT STOP UNTIL YOU THINK THE JOB IS DONE.

2 – As for the ANTI-SEMITES around the world demonstrating against Israel and Jews, this isn’t the 1930’s nor the 1940’s . . . say what you will – but know this: Jews like Anne and myself will NOT go quietly into the night, nor willingly get on a Holocaust Cattle Car, nor obediently walk into a Gas Chamber. AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF US LIKE ANNE AND MYSELF.

CHECK OUT THIS YOU TUBE . . . to see how New York Jews respond to intimidation:

Depending on what happens in the world between now and my next editorial, the next time you read my BLOG, I will explain how Anne and I have decided to make an honest to goodness extraordinary LIFE-CHANGING decision, that might get you thinking too.

ANOTHER NOTE:

In the last Editorial Advisory, you might have received multiple emails informing you of a new editorial. The problem is based on the success of this BLOG. It seems that we were running out of RAM (memory) and Band Width. So we purchased more of both and hope the problem has been corrected.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. Best wishes for safe riding…I hope to ride with you someday in support of you and your mission.

  2. Howard: I am surprised your computer didn’t disintegrate using Jimmie Carter, Traitor Kerry, & Hanoi Jane in one string. I did not serve in Vietnam, but had many friends who did. Everyone who served stays in my heart, I thank them all everytime I cross their paths. Thanks for your article. Jeffrey Koinm

  3. HOWARD, we know Hillary “cut her throat with the “what difference statement”, that will not even come close to her comment this week, “let’s empathize, lets sympathize with them, let’s try to understand them, that was her demise permanently that comment will haunt her till the end of time. How do you sympathize and understand “Sharia Law and people who behead innocent people? “she’s doomed”!
