NOWHERE . . . In the German “Constitution” were Guarantees for Individual Freedoms, which Included Freedom of Religion, Expression, Association – ETC.
And Mostly . . . There Were No Freedoms To Protect The Minorities.

TO ADD INSULT UPON INJURY . . . CANADA MUST FINANCE QUEBEC to the Detriment of the other 9-Canadian Provinces . . . Paid with the Money of the Other 9-Provinces, all of which are Heavily Majority English Speaking.
In Other Words . . . This Is How Quebec Screws Canada With Canadian Money.
I Have Debated No Shortage Of French Language Extremists . . . Which is very Difficult To Do, since Smart Ethnocentric French Debaters ALWAYS PORTRAY THEMSELVES & COME OFF AS VICTIMS, because they are in the MINORITY, and it MUST be up to the MAJORITY – To Be Socially & Politically Generous To The Minority.

3 – In Major Wealthy US Cities, like San Francisco and Los Angeles, whole American Families are Living on the Streets, with Nothing in Life for them To Look Forward To.
4 – I ALSO KNOW FOR A FACT, that Most Retired (Non-Public-Sector-Workers) American & Canadian Citizens, can Barely Make Ends Meet, and Fear the End of each Month when the Bills Come Due.
HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE . . . WHERE’S THE MONEY TO SUPPORT OUR OWN?

Right on the money. I have lived for 85 years, spending most of that time in Canada, the remainder in Europe. I have seen the creep of the left, tried to alert people to their fate but alas, very few listened. You must know the saying, “:The Frog is Boiling”, well the frog is dead. This editorial has identified all the things that Western civilizations have done wrong – allowing our sense of fair play to be used against us. Looking after minorities is one thing but to allow them to dictate to the majority how they (minorities) have to be accommodated is quite a different matter. “Tyranny of the Minorities” is the only way to describe this totally insane, self-inflicted tragedy that will destroy Europe & N. Interesting that you bring this up at this time. In the Bible, the Torah, to be exact we just read of Korach and his rebellion. He was the first populist demagogue. Moses had said that all of the people were holy, thus Korach used this to challenge the authority of Moses and G-d. Most of the people were just observers of what was happening and did not confront Korach. Fortunately, in this case Moses, the leader had a more powerful force on his side. The nature of people doesn’t change.
Yes, totally agree. Lets look after our own. How many seniors do we see working at Tim Horton or similar places like that to support their meager pension income. How many people are there being served by soup kitchens and community food-bank’s. It is time to stop this insanity of giving and giving to others and not looking after our own.
Like you Howard, I left Quebec and discovered a completely different and BETTER LIFESTYLE IN ONTARIO. The Quebec government will NEVER SEPARATE FROM CANADA. Why not? BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING FINANCED THROUGH THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FROM CANADA TO A HAVE-NOT PROVINCE. So every Quebec government simply threatens to separate and the POLYticians give in to their wishes. Canda will transfer $12 billion to Quebec this year. To separate from Canada will only result in Montrealers SEPARATING FROM QUEBEC.
In a democracy, the people will always vote for that person who promises the most for no effort. Thus, One person, one vote is tainted. Unfortunately, the most effective, least expensive solutions are not acceptable. The wall could be built, inexpensively, using those who wish to violate our immigration laws.

Telling people what language they must speak is undemocratic. If Quebec got to separate it would be one person one vote once. Why any non francophone stays in Quebec is beyond my comprehension.
It’s nice to be kind and humanitarian, but the enormous migration waves we are currently facing are unprecedented in recorded human history, both in speed and in sheer numbers.
The Western world doesn’t have the strength to fix all of the problems of Africa, the Islamic countries and the rest of the developing world, even if we wanted to. We constitute a rapidly shrinking part of the world’s population and economy.

Out here in B.C. the ruling socialists government of the NDP, is planning a referendum AND will press hard for us to change our voting system to “Proportional representation”. Democracy is the easiest road to dictatorship. The Bozo with his majority votes himself dictator of the people. So couple that with a constitution. Good but he votes that out as well – i.e. not withstanding clause. People riot and his police force executes a few. That’s all it takes. I put my protection in the Second Amendment. QED!

Sadly HG I am in agreement . Soon we will “all” be equally worse off due to giving in to the minorities and Quebec is an excellent example of how well that theory works. Howard, message to laugh,so as not to cry. To see the traffic in and out of the Human Resources buildings you would swear we support the rich, not the poor. According to a friend, an employee of HR, the “clients” drive big nice suvs and tell the employees what the government “owes” them. At food banks mothers bring their many kids to collect food and then go out and shuffle kids to other mothers for numbers (straight from someone who volunteered to work for a food bank).
