I DIDN’T – BUT I REALLY WANTED TO . . .

WHERE’S THE RESPECT?

This has been a tough few of months for me. But not to be too selfish, I guess it has been a tough few months for a lot of people.

1 – The weather was the WORST I can remember it ever having been. Winter started in November and didn’t quit for us until last week. And even now (April 19, 2014), the weather bureau is forecasting a FREEZING overnight temperature.

2 – In spite of everything the politicians are saying . . . none to very little of it is true.

3 – Times are getting REALLY tough for most Baby Boomers, who have to rely upon their pensions to get by, or the house that they’ve been banking-on to sell for their retirement that isn’t worth nearly as much as they had hoped.

And it seems that the ONLY people who will be able to retire in the lap of luxury are the politicians, public sector workers, and bureaucrats.

4 – The politicians can say all that they want . . . that the economy is improving, but that’s JUST NOT TRUE.

5 – Every time I fill my car with gas, I see how much less money I have to spend on other things.

6 – Our cost of light, heat and electricity has gone up by FIFTY PERCENT in just a few years, and we are very energy conscious.

7 – Groceries are becoming a luxury. Either the prices of healthy foods are going way up, or the portions sold are getting much smaller.

8 – As for JOB GROWTH . . . what growth?

When the politicians say that there are fewer people unemployed, what they are NOT saying, is that there are MORE people living on welfare, NOT looking for work, or are very much underemployed.

THIS REALLY BUMS ME OUT:

LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN . . . It seems to me that with the exception of some people in the PRIVATE work place who were lucky enough or sufficiently skilled to plan well for their retirement, ONLY Politicians, Public Sector Workers and Bureaucrats have the luxury of looking forward to a guaranteed retirement.

My INBOX is flooded every day with stories from hard-working people who are too old to work as hard as need be, yet, because of the cost of living FORCED upon the people by horrible politicians and smug civil servants, who spent our TAX dollars as if they won it in a lottery, that people like us will have to work until the day we die.

I really don’t mind working. But I really HATE the idea that I’m working for the retirement of the people who so screwed up my country and economy, so their nests could be feathered at my expense, that it makes me want to SCREAM.

LIFE IS SO SHORT . . . NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM IT:

Then there was that not-so-little thing of my Mini-Stroke in early January 2014.

I lost THREE friends in the last month, who were really decent hard-working people, who actually contributed. They were each younger than me, and died long before their time.

And every time I think of one of them, or all of them, I am extremely saddened by their loss, that they will never see another sunrise or sunset. And they will never hear the laughter of someone enjoying life. Or feel the sorrow of someone they care about, who is shedding the tears.

WHERE’S THE RESPECT?

I am so fed-up with the lack of respect in our society today, from the politicians at the top of the heap, to the able-bodied SOMETHING-FOR-NOTHING CREEP who pays for his groceries with a food stamp, and his BEER and CIGARETTES with cash.

TODAY WAS A BREAKING-POINT DAY FOR ME:

Anne and I went to a relatively expensive Steak House for lunch, because we had a gift card that paid for most of it. Normally, when Anne and I go out for a meal, it is to some greasy spoon where the food is good, we know the owner, the service is pleasant, and the price is right.

AS ANNE PUTS IT TO ME ALL TOO OFTEN . . . DON’T BE A POO FACE:

Because of the gift card, Anne thought it would be good idea to just splurge a little and stop thinking about the negatives. So, that’s what we did. And as much as I want to be in a happy frame of mind, it’s kind of hard for me to not think about the challenges we all have to face . . . from the time we wake up in the morning, to the time we go to sleep.

We pulled into the parking lot, parked the car, and started to walk to the restaurant, when we saw a VERY ABLE-BODIED man who appeared to be in his late twenties to early thirties, park in a slot that CLEARLY showed the symbol for HANDICAPPED Parking.

It’s like . . . WHAT THE F_ _ _ is wrong with people?

Shouldn’t this guy be thrilled . . . and praise the Lord if he believes in God, that he doesn’t need a handicapped parking spot?

So, on our way in, I went up to this guy, and pointed out that he was parked in a handicapped spot, to which, with a degree of arrogance, he told me that it was just for a minute, as if I was in the wrong to bring this to his attention. And that I should mind my own business.

Anne and I kept walking to the restaurant where we were seated. The JACKASS who parked in the handicapped spot also came into the restaurant, and sat down at the bar with one of his friends.

WHERE’S THE RESPECT?

I WAS SEETHING . . . I’ve had enough of all of these BASTARDS who couldn’t give a rat’s-ass about other people . . . who are selfish to the point that it’s all about them.

HE PICKED A BAD DAY TO PISS ME OFF:

Before Anne could say a word, I was out of my seat and at the bar, where I squeezed this PUNK’S shoulder and said: “MOVE YOUR CAR OR I’LL CALL THE POLICE”.

THE TRUTH WAS . . . Move your car NOW, or it’s going to get real ugly really fast.

With my hand still squeezing his shoulder, and my face into his, it didn’t take him more than a second to get up and head out to move his car. His friend at the bar didn’t even flinch.

When I got back to our table, Anne saw the anger in my face, and was quite worried that this wasn’t over, which it would not have been, had this piece of work come back into the restaurant with any kind of comment.

It took quite a spell for the anger in me to subside, because it wasn’t just about the parking spot. IN TRUTH, I really was hoping it would come down to a visit to FIST-CITY, because this guy really deserved it, and I really wanted to dish it out. But that didn’t happen.

The good news is that I calmed down. No one got hurt or arrested. Our meals were great. And my rib steak was spectacular.

And as we got home late in the afternoon at around 4:30, I saddled up my BIKE and took it for the first ride of the season, with Anne following behind in her MIATA Sports car with the roof down, even though the temperature was somewhere between 55 and 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

We have to remember . . . as angry as we get. And as much as we would like to punch-out someone’s lights, whether it is a politician, a bureaucrat or a disrespectful piece of crap like the guy who parked in the handicapped spot, DON’T BE SILENT, but don’t forget . . .

LIFE IS WORTH LIVING . . . AND THESE GUYS JUST AREN’T WORTH IT.

To all my Christian FRIENDS . . . have a wonderful and retrospective Easter.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. In fairness to Ray Rice he got punished beyond the limits of the NFL as the courts ruled the other day. He is not a repeat offender and has no history of beating fiancees. The five Rams that came out with their arms in the air are like Oreilly called it ”uniformed “. Last count I took on the Rams they had a lot more than five blacks on their team so that says something about the others. Point being you have to work with the ones that get it.
