WHERE’S THE RAINBOW?

IT’S AN ANTHEM TO THE GREATNESS OF AMERICA:

Welcome to the NEW and IMPROVED Galganov.com Editorial Website, where you can add your own comments at the end of the editorial, and I can link articles, photos and emails right in the body of the article.

I am very excited about this improved Website, and am MORE grateful than just somewhat to all the people who helped make it happen through their (your) generous financial support.

SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW:

I receive an enormous volume of emails covering every social and political issue you can imagine. Most of the people who send information to me send things that are very often worth reading.

And sometimes, I receive information that is exceptional.

Last night (Sunday March 30, 2014), at around eleven o’clock, one of the regular readers and supporters of Galganov.com sent an email dealing with the Song made famous by Judy Garland, in the epic movie Wizard of Oz.

The contributor to this editorial is Steve Dubin from Toronto Canada, who as it turns out ONLY by coincidence, came from the same very humble beginnings as me, from a very low income street in Montreal (Hutchinson), where on one side were the wealthy, and the other side were the poor like us. We never met.

On one side of the block lived the Secular Orthodox Jews like us, and just down the street were the ultra Orthodox. A block away, were the Greeks. And a block and a half further, were the French. DREAMS were what kept us going.

And not until last night, did I ever really understand anything more about the song other than it is beautiful to hear.

HOLLYWOOD IS A JEWISH CREATION . . . AND THAT’S A FACT:

Every major Hollywood Studio from MGM, to Warner Brothers, to Columbia Pictures, to Universal Studios and on and on and on, were founded by Eastern European Jews, just about all of whom had fled the Pogroms from the Communists, the Fascists and the religious zealots who hated Jews just because they were Jews.

As MILLIONS of European Jews prayed for FREEDOM from persecution, while the greatest GENOCIDE was being planned by the Nazis and their European ACCOMPLICES, Jews from all over Europe DREAMT of leaving the nightmare behind by going to another land.

On January 1, 1939 . . . Hollywood presented the Wizard of Oz to the world just months after KRISTALLNACHT, the night of the broken glass, where every Jew in Germany, Austria and Sudetenland feared for his and her life from roving gangs, the police, the paramilitary – even from neighbors and acquaintances.

The Lyrics . . . to Over The Rainbow were written by Isidore Hochberg (AKA Yip Harburg) of New York City, the son of Observant Jewish Immigrants from Russia, who came to America in search of FREEDOM from anti-Semitism.

The music was created by Hyman Arluk (AKA Harold Arlen), the son of Jewish Lithuanian parents, who also fled the anti-Semitism that poisoned a continent, whose father was a Cantor, who sang the prayers at his Synagogue.

Together . . . Harburg and Arlen, two Jewish boys from immigrant Orthodox parents from different parts of Europe, produced one of the greatest songs ever performed.

IT’S NOT A SONG . . . IT’S AN ANTHEM TO THE GREATNESS OF AMERICA:

The Jewish Hollywood Moguls understood . . . that the words of Yip Harburg were far more than just words in a movie. They were the embodiment of the deepest possible dream every Jew in Europe had of finding LIFE, LIBERTY, and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS that could ONLY be found OVER THE RAINBOW IN AMERICA.

These incredible words in the Wizard of Oz represented the DREAMS of every European Jew hungering for FREEDOM, on a continent in a world where FREEDOM was nothing more than a dream.

By 11:30 . . . I had done much research on the era, looking at it as if it was for the FIRST TIME. I read the LYRICS several times, and watched Judy Garland sing this anthem on YouTube over and over again while wiping away tears.

I THOUGHT IT WAS SICK OF ME TO DISLIKE THE LEFT AS MUCH AS I DO:

But after reading about the genesis of Over The Rainbow, and listening to the song, I realized that the REAL sickness would be in NOT disliking the LEFT as much as I do.

It also reaffirmed my exceptional animosity to Jewish Leftists, who have either forgotten our history, or never knew it, who’ve abandoned the principles, the suffering and the sacrifice paid for in the MILLIONS so their parents and grandparents could realize the DREAMS that brought them OVER THE RAINBOW to the land of the FREE.

I am saddened by how the LEFT and corrupt vote buying Republicans have done so much damage to the SHINING CITY ON THE HILL, and how Hollywood, the CREATION of Eastern European Jews have abandoned the RAINBOW for all that it was worth.

I guess . . . that even someone like me, who is comfortable in his or her beliefs about the cost and value of FREEDOM, needs a stark reminder from time to time, that our fight is not simply JUST . . . but NOBLE as well.

I don’t know where the RAINBOW is today, but I’m certainly never going to give up trying to find it. And neither should you.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  2. Keep up the good work Howard. You have been my hero since my Congressional run in 2010.

  3. OUTSTANDING!!
The other great “anthem” of the freedoms we were promised,…and have let been “disguised”, and eventually to be removed from us is from “Pinochio”,…”When you wish upon a star,….”. That is the truth of freedom, and the goal of the world,…not just Americans, Canadians, Christians, and Jew!
We are free,….DON’T LET IT DIE!!!

  4. Howard, once I found your website l’ve never left. You tell it like it is. Rainbows follow the darkest storms, but you have to look up to see them.

  5. Dear Howard

  6. Galganov…. Always my first read! And, one of all too few showing something all too lost…common sense!

  7. Howard, I never knew the significance of “Over the Rainbow”. This is a poignant story by real people who suffered and yearned to be free from living in fear for themselves and their families/relatives. Jews have contributed so much to America and the world, for which I am thankful. There is a price to be paid for everything. Freedom is worth the cost.

    Thanks, John Rochotte, Tiffin, Ohio

  10. Howard:

Thanks for over 10 years of your courageous wisdom. All of the submitted comments left me almost speechless, for once. I have only two words: Ditto and Kudos! Steve Dubin, Toronto, Ontario

  11. Mr. Galganov, thank you for your courageous editorializing. You are a breath of fresh air to read. The U.S. has lost its identity because it has been swamped by political correctness and a political shift to the left at the federal level. Throw into the mix liberal/progressive deep pocket big money and it all becomes almost impossible to return to the purity of that which was once the shining city on the hill.

  12. Good looking site Howard. Keep up the good work and best for future.
    Ken, Belgium

  13. HOWARD, YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB AND IT IS AMAZING THAT YOU ARE A CANADIAN BECAUSE YOUR EDITORIALS SOUND SO AMERICAN. I PUT YOU RIGHT UP THERE WITH THOMAS SOWELL AND CHARLES KRATHAMMER.

  14. Blacks in America have reached heights many whites would never reach, yet they always claim discrimination. Why? because Americans are soft and yield fast under pressure. Whites fear the law and the blacks challenge the law.
Is this America the beautiful of the 40s, 50s.
America the beautiful is lost to the unworthy pouring in from all over! Americans by the thousands fought wars all over the world to protect US and democracy and yet none is willing to fight the cancer spreading within!
