THERE ARE SCIENTIFIC METHODS . . . And now with Detailed Algorithms that can Literally Define Exact Audience Size, whether it is amongst Readers, Listeners and/or Viewers . . . The Gig Is Up.
Gone are the Days, when Radio Stations can effectively LIE about the amount of Listeners they have, be they Quarter Hours Tuned (how many Listeners per each 15-Minutes) or their Weekly CUME (Non-Duplicated Weekly Audience).

But Whether You Want to Read it or Not, doesn’t change the Reality, that Anti-Semitism (The Hate Of Jews) is a DISEASE that has always Infected our World, and will Probably Always Infect our World.
In Canada & the United States . . . Up until the 1960’s – Anti-Semitism was Regarded as a Normal North American Situation, where Jews were Not in many Places Permitted to Stay in Hotels, Eat at Certain Restaurants, Enjoy Public Beaches, or Join Yacht or Golf Clubs.
In Fact . . . At Universities like Harvard & McGill – until the 1960’s, there were Quotas on Jewish Enrollment, and Jews needed a Higher Test Score than Others to even Apply.
AND EVEN WORSE . . . There were whole Communities, mostly very Upscale, which had it written in their Property Purchase Agreement, that the Buyer would Agree NOT TO SELL His or Her Property in the Future to a Jew.
And If You Wanted To Rent An Apartment If You Were Jewish – Good Luck.
Two of these Communities in Montreal, were the Very Exclusive Communities of Hampstead and Westmount, which today have a Great Prominence of Jewish Residents.

As I read history it seems that Jews, in any society, are the canary in a country’s “coal mine” as it relates to the country’s ability to continue as a free society.

Howard, I am a firm believer that the day will come when we will show the world that we are the light into the Nations. The jealousy and the hatred toward Jews in general is an entrenched disease. Howard, I’m not writing about the above subject because I am sharing something I found this week as we were traveling across country. It was a computer article about Trudeaux’s mom and Fidel Castro and the article stated that Castro and Trudeaux were possibly father and son. While looking at the pictures of them both, I would have to concur that they look very much alike. I lost the source on the computer so I can’t send that to you. If nothing else it was very interesting.
Howard-here’s my two cents worth. Whether it be Robo Telephone Calls (land line and cellular) or pop-up ads on my computer, I classify all as an invasion of my peace and privacy and as such, I will go out of my way not to purchase the products that are being advertised. Back during the 1950’s when I was a teen I still remember my dad ripping out all the advertising pages from the newly arrived Readers Digest. Since your livelihood was advertising, I suppose your view our behavior was an anomaly.
That’s why I read your column, and have been since probably 2012 or so. It strikes me almost humorously that very few recognize the number of Wars, conflagrations and altercations have been waged in history over the “Jews”! As a Roman Catholic, I am a staunch supporter of the Jewish nation, and Israel, and the Jewish people. The rest of us have our struggles, and we continue to wage them,…but the Jewish “family” has prevailed for THOUSAND’s of years. I see nothing to be aggravated about!

Howard, certainly agree with your comments on anti Semitism. It is a global disease as you describe it. I think there is another disease that is creeping up along side it. And that is anti Christian. Christians around the world and here at home are being smeared because of our beliefs. And we can soon add anything that is Conservative or not Progressive/Liberal/Democrat into the same category.

WE apparently learned NOTHING from WWII and the concentration camps. I don’t know WHAT they are teaching in the schools, universities, etc…but whatever it is IT IS NOT THE TRUTH. Why we have such anti-Semitism is beyond my ability to grasp. In MY family, even during WWII, this was NOT acceptable. Everyone is equal UNTIL they themselves show otherwise in their actions, etc. Then I can make a judgment call and stay as far away from them as possible. MYPOV
It is unfortunate that adults do not re-evaluate the influences imposed on them when young. During the 1930s in Alabama, one of my aunt’s best friends was Mrs. Levi. Dr. Levi was likely responsible for the fact that my aunt lived until about 70. He was a very early radiologist. I distinguished Jews differently, only because they went to a non protestant church and not on Sunday. Everywhere I have ever lived, they are the leaders in the community and are tremendously respected.
Unfortunately, I get emotionally tongue-tied when, the Holocaust, Jews, Anti-Semitism, Israel, etc. becomes the topic of discussion (debate). Which renders me unable to pose an erudite, cultural, intelligent argument. SO, I thank G-d for the Galganov’s of the world.

Howard, I agree with you, you really “hit the nail on the head”! I can’t believe there so much anti Semitism going on in this day & age, as well as discrimination against Christians. I did contact UBC, +also posted the article on my FB page. Thank you Howard, for bringing this behavior to our attention as your “blog family followers”! I really thought this type of BAD BEHAVIOR went out of favor with the civil rights era! Evidently it hasn’t, oh well. I REALLY enjoyed the other folks comments
Christianity, to the best of my knowledge began in Jerusalem. It is beyond my understanding why the United Church and other Christian bodies can be anti-Israel. Why do people dislike, even hate, Jews, can anyone explain? I am Christian, have worked in a Jewish owned company in England, had good Jewish friends, visited Israel and some of the nicest people.
I just don’t understand. Is there a definitive answer that is eluding me?
When I was young I remember we Protestants somehow feared Catholics because we thought they would follow the pope before our president. I remember the few Jews I knew were respected for their acute business sense. But maybe mistrusted for favoring each other in deals. So now I’m Mormon. And people think we will follow our church president before the country president!! Thankfully in America it all mellow we out.
When I was young my father owned a restaurant. One of the clients would not believe that he was Jewish; the nuns taught her that Jews had horns. Quebec circa 1950s. Ken Davies: the reason is that Jews refused to become Christians or Muslims, were royal pains in the butt to invaders such as the Greeks, Romans, Persians, etc because we wanted our freedom, are industrious and successful, so the hatreds just passed down through the ages. Best I can figure out.
When we tried to enroll at Harvard, McGill or other Jew-hating universities our grades had to be higher, while, when Affirmative Action was legislated minorities got in by the mere intimidation turning someone down conjured up. Grades carried less weight. The same discriminatory reason Jews built hospitals; b/c they weren’t encouraged to study medicine and shunned as doctors in residents in hospitals. I frankly don’t know of one university in Canada which hasn’t had recent anti-Jewish incidents
