THEY CAME TO BE AMERICANS

START WITH THIS PREMISE . . . BECAUSE there is nothing you can say or do that will win an argument with the LEFT . . . WHY EVEN BOTHER?

I don’t know if it was John McCain who coined this comment, but it was from him where I heard it first . . . “The problem with getting into the mud to wrestle with a pig – is that the pig likes it, and you get full of mud.”

THE SAME CAN BE SAID ABOUT THE LEFT.

Let me start with the Coca-Cola Super Bowl Ad that had multiple cultures singing America The Beautiful in various languages.

It seems to me that those Politically Correct and Timid Conservatives, who supported this, had no idea what they were supporting. But, did support this insult to the American Melting Pot, so as not to appear to be anti-immigrant. Because, as everyone knows, that the greatest shame in the world according to the LEFT, is to be painted to any degree, to be a racist. And that certainly includes being anti-immigrant . . . imagined or real.

LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I THINK A MELTING POT IS:

When you throw a great many different metals into a super heated cauldron, some soft, some hard, some pliable, some shiny – etc . . . you create a unique ALLOY that is a whole new metal, which becomes the sum of its parts, which has an entirely different appearance and purpose.

In the case of America . . . this UNIQUE cultural ALLOY became so super-strong, unlike any other cultural ALLOY ever seen on earth, that everyone of decent character wanted to emulate it.

This new cultural American ALLOY was never until now defined by its individual parts, but rather by its very distinguishable COMMONALITY.

In the past, when people came to America’s shores, they came to BECOME AMERICANS. NOT HYPHENATED-AMERICANS. They came to be FREE. They didn’t come for a FREE RIDE. And they didn’t come to change America into the country they had left.

THEY CAME TO BE AMERICANS – LOCK, STOCK, AND BARREL.

They came to sing America’s National Anthem as THEIR Anthem . . . in the language in which it was written. They came to sing America’s Patriotic Songs like America The Beautiful in the language of the people who ADOPTED them.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.”

Emma Lazarus didn’t write these profound words in 1883 to mean . . . COME TO OUR AMERICA TO DISASSEMBLE & RECREATE IT IN YOUR OWN CULTURAL IMAGE.

When Coca-Cola aired America The Beautiful in multiple languages during the Super Bowl, they weren’t celebrating the MELTING POT; to the contrary, they were celebrating just the OPPOSITE.

By performing an American ICONIC song that DEFINED the nation that USED TO BE A MELTING POT by the Nation’s DIFFERENCES, Coca-Cola was DECONSTRUCTING the ALLOY that made America the INCREDIBLE country that was created out of a cauldron of many . . . back into its original parts, separating that which was once MELTED together, that formed the incredible cultural metal the world came to know as AMERICA.

With that performance, Coca-Cola celebrated America’s DIFFERENCES – not America’s COMMONALITY:

If Coca-Cola would have had these various cultures sing America The Beautiful in English, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A CELEBRATION OF AMERICA THE MELTING POT. But that’s not what Coca-Cola did.

And the people who are defending this outrage are either too stupid to understand the difference between a MELTING POT and an association of competing cultures. Or want the American MELTING POT to come to an end to fulfill their LEFTIST vision of their Brave New World.

THIS IS HOW I DEAL WITH THE LEFT:

I was invited to a large gathering last week, where inevitably, there are always people who recognize me, or those who have heard of me, and can’t wait to engage me in debate.

One such person came to me with a big smile on his face, an outstretched open hand and a gotcha-question. I shook his hand and asked him this before saying anything else: “Are you willing to fight for your rights and the rights of others?” His reply was typically LEFT.

“That depends on the circumstances” . . . he said.

To which I replied:

“I’ll make the question simpler. Are you prepared to fight for your OWN Freedoms?” Again he came back with LEFTIST BS . . . “You can’t just ask a question like that, and expect an answer without knowing all the details.”

TO WHICH . . . without uttering another word, I turned and simply walked away.

There were two others at this party who also tried to engage me in LEFTIST prattle. To one who made an opening statement about a retiring LEFTIST politician, I answered, “I don’t care”. And to the other who also wanted a debate, I simply said, “I’m not interested.”

That’s how I deal with the LEFT. Perhaps it’s time for all Conservatives to do the same in more ways than one . . . AND IN THE PROCESS SAVE THE MELTING POT.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov
