WHO SHOULD LEAD THE CANADIAN CONSERVATIVES?

SO HERE’S MY FIRST CHOICE . . . AND HIS NAME IS MAXIME BERNIER:

BEFORE READING-ON:

As always, after my monthly request for Financial Support for this BLOG and the Things I do – I AM VERY PLEASED TO THANK EVERYONE, who sent in Support. IT REALLY DOES HELP TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCE. And within the next few days, because as usual, I’m Swamped with Emails, I will PERSONALLY Thank Every Person who sent their Financial Support. And I’ll do it Via Email.

WHO TO SUPPORT AND WHY:

I am BESIEGED with requests for my OPINION on who should be chosen to Head the Conservative Party of Canada, which not all that long ago (2003), was Registered as the “PROGRESSIVE” Conservative Party of Canada, which might explain why more often than not, they got their ASSES KICKED at the Polls by Liberals.

After all, why Settle for SOCIALIST-LIGHT, when you can get the Full Monty.

WHO THE HELL NEEDED YET ANOTHER “PROGRESSIVE” PARTY IN CANADA?

Canada is so POLITICALLY & SOCIALLY FAR TO THE LEFT, that you need a Compass and Topographic Map, just to find the Center. So, YEARS Ago (1987), when a REAL Conservative Party, which was FOUNDED in Alberta, called the REFORM PARTY, it was literally MUGGED by the Eastern and West Coast Liberal Media, giving it little chance to succeed.

Yet, even with all the Unfair & Dishonest Media, there was still some Light At The End of a very DARK Tunnel with the Reform Party.

IN FULL DISCLOSURE . . . At that time, I was still in my Transitional Phase from being a Liberal to becoming a Conservative. And I too DIDN’T give the Reform Party the Fairness of Thought they DESERVED. Which really meant, that I Cheated myself more than I Cheated them.

Like Most Canadians, I Too Was Somewhat Guided By The Mainstream Media.

THE REFORM PARTY . . . stood for the Values, which everyone who appreciates this BLOG would embrace. But in a HAIL of Relentless Sniper Attacks from all the Liberal Media (Radio, Television and Print), the Reform Party couldn’t make Inroads into the Big Province Voting Blocks. So they changed their name, moderated their positions somewhat, without changing their Values, and MORPHED into the Canadian Alliance Party in the year 2000, and became less ALBERTA-CENTRIC.

AND IT WORKED . . . which launched the Canadian Alliance Party, at least into becoming Canada’s Official Opposition, which carried some weight. But, they still didn’t have the Gravitas or reasonable support of the Media, to ever become the Majority Government of Canada.

DOES THIS KIND OF SMEAR JOB SOUND FAMILIAR?

To the Mainstream Media . . . the Reform/Alliance Members were “Yahoos”, “Nazi and KKK Supporters”, and the kind of people who would Bring Back . . . “Back Alley Abortions”.

SO IN THE YEAR 2003 . . . The Canadian Alliance MERGED with the “PROGRESSIVE” Conservative Party of Canada, and OFFICIALLY became the CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF CANADA without “PROGRESSIVE” as any part of it.

AND JUST 3-YEARS AFTER THAT . . . The CONSERVATIVE Party of Canada won a Minority Government in 2006, and held onto Power until the October 19, 2015 Election, which Voted-In ULTRA LIBERAL Justin Trudeau.

AND NOW THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY IS LOOKING FOR A NEW LEADER:

I liked Stephen Harper, Canada’s Prime Minister from 2006 until 2015. I knew Stephen Harper, and had several “chats” with him before he became Prime Minister. We even dined together, just Harper, Anne and Myself, at a Montreal Syrian/Lebanese Club, where I was very close with the Owners. Where Stephen Harper and I discussed a whole host of Issues.

THE PROBLEM WITH STEPHEN HARPER . . . was that in my opinion, especially when he won his MAJORITY Government, that he was TOO MUCH of a Political Animal, and never seemed to have had the GONADS TO REALLY do the CONSERVATIVE THING, acting from time to time very much like a PROGRESSIVE.

ALL OF THAT SAID . . . Prime Minister Stephen Harper did a Great Overall Job, and now we have to find his replacement. Which to me . . . gives us a TREMENDOUS OPPORTUNITY TO DO IT RIGHT.

Among the Mob vying for the Leadership, there are 2-Candidates Running, which stand out, one of which will Most Probably Win.

THE FIRST IS KEVIN O’LEARY . . . who by all standards, at least mine, is a GLOBALIST. He is an Open Borders kind of Guy, who thinks Canada should be back in the Business of Peace Keeping instead of FIGHTING.

O’Leary is indeed a Fiscal Conservative, who has a serious Interest in having a Smaller and Less Expensive Government, ZEROING in on our Deficit, and paying down the Debt. Which to me are all good things.

ON THE SOCIAL STRATA HOWEVER . . . I can’t discern if O’Leary is much different than a LEFTIST, who doesn’t invest much time writing or speaking about how he would change the Social and Entitlement Welfare System. And That’s NOT Good,

TOO MUCH RAZZMATAZZ:

THE THING THAT BOTHERS ME THE MOST ABOUT O’LEARY . . . Is that he seems to see himself as being BIGGER THAN LIFE. He has been quite successful as an Entrepreneur, making what is considered to be a Small Fortune, which is good, but also, as a SUCCESSFUL Radio and Television Personality, much like President Donald Trump, but on a VERY MUCH smaller scale.

It Appears To Me . . . That O’Leary Thinks Too Much Of Kevin O’Leary.

SO HERE’S MY FIRST CHOICE . . . AND HIS NAME IS MAXIME BERNIER:

Bernier is a Lawyer, which I won’t hold against him. He is a Businessman, which I Applaud, and he has been in Parliament as an MP (Member of Parliament) and as a Cabinet Minister under Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

IN MAY OF 2008 . . . Maxime Bernier, who is divorced with Adult Children, was FORCED to resign as Canada’s Foreign Minister (akin to America’s Secretary of State), because he left Sensitive NATO Information at his Girlfriend’s Home.

WHAT MADE THIS SERIOUS INDISCRETION EVEN WORSE . . . Was that Bernier’s Girlfriend at the time, Julie Couillard, was a REALLY HOT BIKER BABE, who in her FORMER life, hung around with Members of the Hell’s Angels, one of whom she was close to, who was gunned down because of his affiliations.

As it turned out . . . the Confidential Information Bernier left exposed, wasn’t Detrimental to NATO, but it was extremely EMBARRASSING for Canada, making us look like a BUFFOON Nation, not to be trusted with important and Classified Documents. And for that . . . Maxime Bernier Paid A Heavy Political and Social Price.

FROM THE EMBERS OF THE FLAME . . . THE STRONG WILL RISE:

People who know Max Bernier . . . Lovingly Refer To Him As MAD MAX . . . or to many others, as THE ALBERTAN FROM Quebec, both of which define him in a Complimentary Light.

SO LET ME GET TO THE CHASE AND TELL YOU WHY I SUPPORT MAD MAX:

Before I List What Mad Max Stands For . . . I will tell you at what Level Maxine Bernier can expect from me – UNLESS MAD MAX REALLY SCREWS UP . . .

1 – I Just JOINED the Conservative Party of Canada, which I never thought I would do, which gives me the Opportunity to VOTE for Mad Max to become the Leader of the Conservative Government when the Nomination Elections will soon be held.

2 – Anne Joined the Conservative Party as well, for the same reason.

3 – We are Working with all of our Friends and Relatives to also Join the Conservative Party,  to Support and Vote for The Albertan From Quebec.

4 – Anne and I believe in Putting Our Money Where Our Mouth Is . . . so we each DONATED TO THE MAXIME BERNIER ELECTION FUND. There’s NO Better or MORE Honest Endorsement than that.

SO HERE’S WHAT BERNIER STANDS FOR IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER . . .

1 – Smaller Government.

2 – Less Expensive Government.

3 – End The Carbon Tax.

4 – Take The Politics Out Of Global Warming Hysteria.

5 – Open Up Gun Rights Across Canada.

6 – End Cross Provincial Trade Barriers.

7 – End Corporate Welfare.

8 – End Farm Quotas Costing Canadians A Ton Of Money For Dairy Products – ETC.

9 – Make The Tax Code FAIR for everyone INCLUDING Small Businesses.

10 – RESPECT FOR CANADA’S CONSTITUTION & RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE.

To Me . . . These Are Mom’s Apple Pie Issues – NOT ONE OF WHICH I CAN’T AND WON’T SUPPORT.

And now you know where I stand on whom I want to see as Canada’s NEXT Conservative Party Leader . . . WHOSE NAME IS – Maxime Bernier, AKA – Mad Max, AKA – The Albertan From Quebec, and Hopefully AKA – The Leader of the Conservative Party.

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. The media has been compromised and it’s all about the leftist agenda. I’m getting rid of
time Warner because of the airtime they sold to Al Jazeera. We’re opening the door to the enemy who is knocking. God Bless America!

  2. Howard, I couldn’t agree with you more about O’Leary. He is the most narcissist if there ever was one. I will not vote for the Conservative party if he is elected as a leader. I met with Bernier years ago and honestly I was not impressed. I haven’t made up my mind yet as who to support. Will wait and see. Steve Acre, Montreal

  3. 100% on the mark Howard ! While O’Leary would improve Canada’s fiscal situation, I don’t like his positions on the Military and gun ownership, etc. The rest of the crowd are unknown to me or are red Tories pretending to real conservatives. Bernier gets my vote.

Cheers and thanks for all the work you put into your blog !

  4. Glad to hear Howard’s support of Bernier. He is my pick, too. He is an unrepentant libertarian who believes in free markets and individual freedom and choice…exactly what Canada needs. That Bernier is from Quebec — the most socialist jurisdiction in North America — makes his candidacy doubly pleasing because his influence in Quebec is needed most.

  5. I was too mixed up with US politics (and enjoying it, I might add) to consider anyone for the leadership. No one captured my attention. Maxime Bernier was not my favorite but, thanks to you, I will take a closer look. Guess I should pay closer attention. I was hoping for a non-politican like Donald Trump but that would never happen in Canada thanks to the good old MSM!
Enjoy receiving your blog and wish you well!

  6. I’m curious why you ignore another possible leader for the Conservative Party of Canada, also a former minister in the Harper Administration and former Member of Parliament, Jason Kenney, former MP from Calgary? He’s young, experienced and truly Conservative.

  7. The problem I have with Bernier is he is from Quebec. My list of lousy PMs from the worst and maybe getting better all come from Quebec. Pierre Eliot Trudeau with a close second being Jean Chretien who just beats out the current clown prince and the rear would be Brian Mulroney. All big government big spending morons and all from Quebec, the greatest “taker” province that ever existed. Quebecers all have the give to me mentality with little give.

  8. How sad it is that the best PM we ever had Steven Harper could not run again. I am having a hard time making a decision on who to support. Our local rag fully supports anything the liberals and dopey do. It is an embarrassment to read the drivel they write. Today’s editorial was on how the Conservatives were misleading the country on Motion 103. They constantly ridicule Donald Trump and pick-up the inane New York Times crap. Lord help us.

  9. Howard, I feel you have finally entered the “road to Damascus” on O’Leary, which I am glad to see. My hopes are on Kellie Leitch to win the leadership but I believe that it will be Mad Max as well. She is the only one to understand that we are in a global war with Islam and she agrees with your 10 points as well.

  10. I am an American & can’t even vote in Canada. However, I trust Howard’s words & thoughts on this issue. Howard has done an 180 on his political position. He knows what to look for & how to discern who is good or bad. Is Howard perfect? Good heavens no, but his record on who to trust is right on. In the beginning of the USA Presidential election. He was just as opposed to Trump, as I was. Then Howard began to see things in a different light. He even changed my mind. Trust Howard, he’s good.

  11. I was a boddy guard for Mr. Harper And would have taken as bullet for him in a heartbeat. What a great man and a great hockey dad to! I cant accept negative commentary towards him. He was a true leader. A true Statesman and a helluva nice guy.

  12. Maxime Bernier is my choice as well Howard. Not only for all of the platform issues that you list, but to be frank voters today are generally ignorant of the facts and trend toward aligning themselves with candidates according to gender, religion, skin colour, good looks and personal niche issues like the legalization of marijuana. Bernier has the political chops, is French Canadian, and has the requisite good looks to go toe-to-toe with the ‘idiot prince’ that currently occupies 10 Sussex Drive

  13. Thanks for the endorsement of ‘Mad Max,’ who, to my mind, is the only candidate that might bring significant change to a country decaying from socialism. Now if only the other conservative voters can gain the wisdom to see that some freedom would make life better.

  14. Yep, just what we need…another politician to attend secret Bilderberg meetings, do more secret ‘Trade Deals’ and then claim that it is only normal to give away your sovereignty to get a Trade Deal. Meantime, we have been sued relentlessly under these trade deals, our country is a mess from top to bottom, and these politicians have all lined their pockets and moved on to more plum jobs for the globalist, leaving the peasants to rot in a postnational state with no core identity.

  15. Bernier-forced to resign from cabinet after he put Canada in jeopardy by creating a huge security breach involving classified documents that he left out in the open at his then girlfriend’s home, a woman with past links to organized crime. Bernier, put Canada at risk, he’s incompetent and a high security risk;has been guilty of “a string of incompetencies” including bungles in getting aid to cyclone-ravaged Burma, missteps on the Afghan file and the leak on NAFTA,he supports Bill 101.. no thanks

  16. I really hope that people have not forgotten PRESTON Manning. He worked so hard for the Reform Party.

  17. Howard as a member of the C.P.C. My first choice will be O’Leary, then Leitch but not another one from Quebec.
    Mike

  18. We all make mistakes and get involved with people we do not know their background or involvement. However, the political arena has a bad light on it, which is the media, who can turn on the bright light, or rosy light (in the case of Obama). Max sounds like a parallel to Trump. Remember, they called Trump all kinds of names and thought he was a TV baffoon and no problem. He hit the pulse of the people, not the media or Hollywood or other insider Politicians. Go Max Go!!!

  19. Re. Bernier… I don’t like the Quebec link and the irresponsible document scandal. But I cannot stand O’Leary… he’s just to much of a blowhard, fiscally sound (good) but comes across as a self-centered buffoon (we don’t need that, we have a fool in power already.) Chong is out (he wants a carbon tax)… Leitch is very intelligent, has good ideas, but sounds too shrill. The key is to get someone who is electable… I fear that may need some compromises!

  20. Hello Howard,

Yes, I’m grateful you answered my questions about who to support for Conservative Leadership. Completely, agree that Kevin O’Leary is basically liberal light who is for open borders, more immigration and anti gun stance. So, my vote would also be a resounding NO.

Am greatly concerned about Maxine Bernier as English Canadian’s have suffered greatly under French lawyers from Quebec and their unfettered agenda of frenchification of the Rest of Canada. Thank you!

  21. O’Leary, wearing mirrored glasses to reflect back his own image, as PM? God save Canada.

  22. It is the decade of the “outlaw” not only in the USA, but why not Canada as well. It’s time for EVERYONE to realize that “politician” is a synonym for “solid fill” and that’s where they belong. Trump is proving, against the odds, that a true leader KNOWS how to take lemons and make lemonade,….and a profit selling it!! And quickly!!

  23. I will never vote for another Frenchman from Quebec. Howard, is your above report “fake news”?

And a lawyer also? No thanks!

Heard its so cold in Canada fight now that Bernie, the lawyer, has his hands in his own pockets!

    Don’t want him in mine!

  24. Kind of surprised you didn’t choose Kellie Leach, given that she covers all the Bernier points, with the big issue she supports being the “Canadian values” immigration position.

  25. I find it strange that Howard is not a candidate… He represents the views of all of us, those who have sound minds and wish for the best for Canada and the U.S.
