I would like to say “I DON’T GET IT”. But the Problem . . . IS THAT I DO GET IT.
Why in a Million Years didn’t the Mainstream Media, INCLUDING FOX NEWS, Carry the Importance of the Italian Referendum, since the NO VOTE will eventually UPEND THE EUROPEAN UNION, and shake the entire World, like we haven’t been Shaken Perhaps since World War II?
And even today . . . where’s the reporting and analysis?
IT WASN’T THAT THE ITALIAN REFERENDUM TO BLOW-OFF . . . the Proposed Changes to their Constitution was some sort of a State Secret. And it’s not as if the REPERCUSSIONS to the Exiting of the Italian Government as a result was unknown. And it’s definitely NOT . . . that the not so long-term results of this Referendum won’t change Europe, to the Point, where the EU will COLLAPSE under it’s own Bureaucratic and Corrupt Weight, without Italy as part of the Continental Scam.
I’m not so PRESCIENT that I can see into the Future, any more than other people, especially other People who are PAID Handsomely to Speculate on these things. Nor am I so much Smarter than other people, who make their Living Reading the Political Tea Leaves . . . IT’S JUST THAT I’M HONEST ABOUT IT.
It seems to me . . . that the Media Corporations in Canada and the USA, have PURPOSEFULLY withheld information on the Italian Referendum, to keep the Hype Down, so as not to REPEAT the Excitement of BREXIT and the POUNDING the LEFT took as a result.
In many respects . . . the DEFEAT of the LEFTIST Globalists in Italy was greater than the British Vote to Leave the EU, since the BRITS don’t necessarily think of themselves as Europeans, as do the People who live right on the European Continent.
So . . . Even though the Loss of England from the EU was Substantial, it wasn’t the same as a REAL MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN FAMILY, giving the Italian Single Finger Salute to the European Union, which is coming as sure as the Next Sunrise.
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT CASTRO:
It’s unbelievable, or more likely . . . it should be unbelievable, how the Media PANDERS to the ASININE, such as the More than Ample Size of Kim Kardashian’s Ass and Boobs, or the Life and Loves of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, as if either of these two STUPIDITIES have any meaning in the Lives of the people who turn to the News Media for NEWS.
The Castro Funeral Procession was carried LIVE on many Networks, giving HONOR, just by the Media’s presence and coverage to a RUTHLESS PIECE OF EXCREMENT, who Enslaved, Brutalized, Murdered and Stole from an ENTIRE Country, for almost as long as I’ve been Alive.
I’VE HAD NO SHORTAGE OF FRIENDS . . . who Vacationed in CUBA during almost every Winter, because it was CHEAP and All Inclusive. And all I could say to them about their Cuban Vacations and Themselves, including Jewish Friends . . . was formed in a Question – followed by a Statement . . .
QUESTION . . . If this was 1938, before Germany went to War, if the Price was Right – Would you have enjoyed a Getaway in Nazi Germany, especially knowing about the Nuremberg Laws of 1935?
STATEMENT . . . If you could go to CUBA, because it was CHEAP, knowing that the Cuban Island was a PRISON, where FREEDOM didn’t Exist, where People were Tortured for saying the WRONG thing, MURDERED for whatever, and ate what they could Scrounge, while YOU ate like a King at your All Inclusive Resort . . . then I am certain you would have Vacationed in Nazi Germany, in spite of the EVIL. AND THAT WOULD BE A SIN, no less than doing the same in CUBA.
BUT TO THE AMERICAN AND CANADIAN MEDIA . . . It seems that all is Forgotten and Forgiven. But tell that to the Friends and Families of 6-MILLION Jews and 6-MILLION Non Jews who died courtesy of the Nazis.
THEN TELL THE SAME THING . . . to the Cuban Patriots, and all the THOUSANDS of others, who Suffered and Perished NO LESS at the hands of the Castro Brothers, on their Personal Communist Island of HELL. And then tell the Friends and Families of the VICTIMS how much you enjoyed your Cheap All Inclusive Vacation.

Howard: Ck out http://canada.usembassy.gov/visas/information-for-canadians.html. 6 month stay/yr. No Visa but passport req’d. Paragraph 4 of above webpage tells how to get extension (must be approved b-4 your 6-months run out. It’s not the IRS but State Dept that dictates & controls such matters, along with their branches – consulates, embassies, and US Customs & Border Protection (at the borders of course). It’s same in lots of countries for US citizens visiting there.
I watched the BBC-World last night and they gave in-depth coverage on the Italian Referendum. There was so much corruption, etc in the bureaucracy the PEOPLE had enough. The banks are teetering. unemployment of the YOUNG is at 40%. Debt is off the charts. Sounds familiar doesn’t it? Italy is the HEART of the Euro….the fallout will be felt around the world. I’m a S Florida native & grew up with a Cuban housekeeper/governess. She told me stories about how horrid Fidel & life in Cuba that made a lifelong impression&the strongest one was how evil Castro is/was &how lucky she was to have risked her life to escape &to be cleaning my dad’s house for $2 an hour? at the time. Later I found out she was a teacher in Cuba. She was a hard worker, the house was spotless & she would help me with my elementary schoolwork &improving her English with my textbooks.

I said years ago that the EU was doomed to failure. It won’t work with the Germans retiring at 65 and the Greeks at 50, It won’t work because there is only one word in the Italian language for when you are going to do the work or study for a test etc. and that word is ” Domani” which means tomorrow. When Americans go to medical school in Italy they graduate in 4 years which is really something having to learn a foreign language. Many Italians graduate in 6-8 years.
We lived in FL in the early 60s and met many people who were Doctors, lawyers etc. They were all nice and were working at jobs like stocking super market shelves etc. just glad to have escaped Cuba. After them came what Castro cleaned out of the jails . I agree with Howard I wouldn’t go to Cuba if it was free….. unlike the people !!!
On the Italian referendum, I have business dealings with an Italian citizen living on the Island of Sicily. I asked him about the referendum. His response was more apathetic but focused on getting his country back. They just don’t care about media coverage except they want their country back. I sense that attitude reflects our POTUS election process covered by our corrupt media pre-and post November. Italians spoke against corrupt media. Good wishes to Italy. Good journey to Trump and Pence.
The press were too busy with the (pipeline) protesters in North Dakota standing in the snow and getting ready to drive their (pipeline) fuelled vehicles home to their (pipeline) heated homes.
As you stated – When I first heard about the referendum vote in Italy I thought so what, Then I read about the resignation of their PM & a bit more info was told. Now, I see what you see – This action by Italy could tear down the entire EU. In my opinion Bravo! Now financially this will highly affect all of the Global Banking around the world, including both the USA & Canada!!! Both of our countries are struggling to just survive & this could really affect our bouncing back to better days.
I think many of the problems are the ways in which the education system in the U.S. has dumbed down the students. Most young people are oblivious to what goes on around them, except for celebrities. It’s all about “me”. The world revolves around them, or so they think.

I’ve always said when times are good, you don’t live better. You live in a bubble, you become somewhat entitled & arrogant. It’s a deception cause no bubble will last forever. Our parents worked so hard to give us what they didn’t have. Wrong perspective. Give our children a sense of purpose, value, education & awareness. Let them do the rest. I think we’re in for a rude awakening globally.

I winter in the US. “World News” translates to NYC, Washington, LA, Seattle, Miami and maybe something in between. There was virtually no news when Greece had its meltdown, but a murder near one of the Queen’s estates was big international news. Why are people ignorant to the world? They accept what they are told as fact and important no matter how obviously biased and empty the reporting.
The local Miami TV stations all had a reporter in cuba but the ABC station had 2 broadcasting live every day for about 15 minuets at all news programs.
These reporters interviewed cubans who only said he was a great man,even the reporters said castro was the person who saved cuiba , I have removed the ABC news station from any further news broadcasts. castro was a murder and evil man.

Years ago I worked in an alumina plant. We had a management club which had monthly meetings. Circa 1963, an engineer, who was a recent hire, gave a timely presentation which I will always remember. His mother had been head of the Catholic women of Cuba and he had been general manager of the power company until Castro came to power. The horror, about which he told us, was almost unfathomable. He and family were very fortunate to leave before it was too late.

Several years ago Raoul Castro referred to tourists who visited his island prison as “useful idiots” because they brought with them a yearly infusion of some $2-billion which was indispensable for sustaining the Cuban military that he lead. Whenever I meet anyone who has visited Cuba or has plans to do so I call him a useful idiot. It’s the least I can do to pound some sense into him.
I am very optimistic because Trump is killing the leftist media. They are beside themselves with his success and knowing he can ignore them. They are being exposed and in steep decline. The new media is in ascendance. I think it is irreversible.
