MOST OF US Have Something To Atone For

I BELIEVE THAT IT IS INDEED A SIN NOT TO DEFEND OUR FREEDOMS:

ADMITTING GUILT AND SIN BEFORE GOD:

Tonight (Saturday, October 4, 2014) . . . after SUNSET, after the SHOFAR is blown, ending the HOLIEST of Jewish DAYS (Yom Kippur), Jews WORLDWIDE will truly begin the New Year after confessing all of our sins before GOD, begging for forgiveness and REDEMPTION, which to many, is simply more than enough to wipe their slate clean, beginning yet another year of transgressions.

THE HYPOCRISY IS THE FIRST SIN:

There is a tremendous HYPOCRISY in FASTING for 25 hours, while pleading in a Synagogue for FORGIVENESS, when not a moment is passed at the conclusion of the HOLY DAY, when those who transgress against others, simply continue transgressing, feeling redeemed for their simple religious act of CONTRITION.

The APPEAL of contrition is not reserved exclusively for the Jewish People, given that all forms of Confessions and PLEAS for forgiveness are a major part of most religions, where after having their consciences sufficiently mollified, NOTHING MUCH CHANGES:

BECAUSE THIS BLOG IS SOCIO/POLITICAL:

The Day Of Atonement means much to me, since it is truly a day for reflection. It’s not as if I don’t reflect everyday, but, like the New Year we all celebrate on the first of January every year, YOM KIPPUR is a day amongst the Jewish People that is the culmination and beginning of everything.

I try to the VERY best of my ability to live a MORAL and Ethical life, and if I am guilty of any transgressions, it might be that I haven’t done enough, rather than what I might have done to harm others . . . WHICH BRINGS ME TO POLITICS.

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE . . . AND NO ONE IS SIMPLY ENTITLED:

Because we live in FREE Societies (Canada and the USA), I believe that we all have a MORAL, virtually a religious OBLIGATION to do all that is necessary to PROTECT and PROMOTE the FREEDOMS we enjoy . . . that were won and defended over centuries with BLOOD and TREASURE.

I BELIEVE THAT IT IS INDEED A SIN NOT TO DEFEND OUR FREEDOMS:

It’s NOT enough to stand before the open ALTAR of GOD begging for forgiveness of things that we might have done or said against others, while ignoring the TRANSGRESSIONS we make by NOT standing against all who will ROB us of our FREEDOMS and LIBERTIES.

It is truly a SIN NOT to be engaged in all manner possible, to do what is necessary to GUARANTEE our individual FREEDOMS, which most of us take for granted.

It is an ABANDONMENT of our Moral and Ethical Compass NOT to protect, preserve, and PROMOTE as many FREEDOMS as possible against the FALSE GOD OF COLLECTIVISM, where Group RIGHTS supersede the RIGHTS of INDIVIDUALS.

It is not enough to go through the motions of PRAYING and BEGGING for REDEMPTION, if it does NOT include a REAL COMMITMENT to the FREEDOMS that actually allow us to PRAY as we see fit.

TO IGNORE THE LOSS OF FREEDOM – ALL FREEDOMS . . . suffers no less culpability, than those who create and enforce the SIN of SUBJUGATION.

THEREFORE . . . On this Day Of Atonement, I can look into the mirror and face my Moral and Ethical Compass, without the need or GUILT of having to ask for REDEMPTION.

My question to you . . . Can you say the same?

Best Regards . . . Howard Galganov

  1. When I saw the title of your editorial, my first thought was of Obama’s failed mission, to save an American, who was then killed by Al Quida! It reminded me, of when Carter ordered “Operation Eagle Claw” trying to free the 55 hostages, on April 24, 1980. The mission failed leaving eight American servicemen dead and the destruction of two aircraft. For me, both of these inept Presidents were/are Fence Sitters and history is proving that.
