I AM A CANADIAN . . . PROUD AND TRUE:
I have a great respect, admiration, and sincere FONDNESS for the United States of America. And I have a deep emotional commitment to Israel . . . BUT FIRST AND FOREMOST, I AM A CANADIAN.
So, when my country comes under attack as what is happening as I am writing this, MY BLOOD BOILS WITH ANGER.
In Canada, we have no shortage of our own LEFTIST problems. We have no shortage of language and cultural issues to deal with, AND governments that are TOO BIG, TOO REGULATORY HAPPY, TOO EXPENSIVE . . . Etcetera.
And just as I’m critical of what’s happening in the USA, I am NO LESS critical of what is happening politically and socially in Canada. But that doesn’t matter now.
When I first realized that America came under attack on 9/11, I sat in front of my television, with tears streaming down my cheeks, because a BEST FRIEND was just harmed. And this morning (October 22, 2014), just as on 9/11 . . . tears filled my eyes as I watched the news unfold as a gunman was shooting it out in MY PARLIAMENT BUILDING.
CANADA FIGHTS WELL BEYOND OUR SIZE:
Canada is a small country in terms of population, at just about THIRTY-FIVE Million People, and HUGE in size, the second largest landmass in the world.
But in spite of our small population, NO COUNTRY has ever provided more military in the defense of FREEDOM on a per capita basis than has Canada.
Canada was one of the FIRST countries to send TROOPS to Afghanistan, who didn’t hide in their compounds, as virtually all other Nations’ troops did.
OUR TROOPS FOUGHT, BLED AND DIED.
Regardless of how we ARGUE with each other in Canada, TOUCH ONE CANADIAN and you’ve touched us all. And if anyone thinks for a second that Canada will back down when PUSHED, they should have a very serious DOUBLE THINK, because Canada NEVER BACKS DOWN.
We are one TOUGH “little” country with a very BIG heart.
And if this shooting at Parliament has anything to do with Islamo/Fascism, as the killing of one soldier, and the wounding of another on Monday (October 20, 2014) in St Jean Sur Richelieu (just South of Montreal) was carried-out in the name of Islam . . . THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY.
HERE’S SOME BRIEF PERSONAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
1 – I have spoken at Parliament at the invitation of the government.
2 – I have led various large events on Parliament Hill including the Pledge Ride in 2012.
3 – I have visited often with Members of Parliament on Parliament Hill, dining from time to time in the Parliamentary Dining Room.
4 – Anne and I have enjoyed a Private Supper with Stephen Harper (Canada’s Prime Minister) as our guest at the Syrian/Lebanese Club in Montreal.
5 – And currently, I am organizing with several Members of Parliament to have a special Tour of Parliament for our American Riders of the Pledge Ride for 2015, which this year will be held in part in Ottawa . . . ending in Washington DC.
HERE’S THE BOTTOM LINE:
IF THIS WAS AN ATTACK IN THE NAME OF ISLAM . . . NEITHER ALLAH NOR MOHAMMED WILL BE ABLE TO PROTECT THOSE RESPONSIBLE.
